Safe Shipping Days at sea

Slowly but surely the Belgian coast sees the season of pleasure craft starting up again. The Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre (MRCC), the General Directorate Maritime Transport and the Waterway and River Police have organised four 'safe shipping days'for the promotion of safe pleasure craft.

Teams of the shipping police and the shipping inspectorate will do their best to raise awareness with skippers to sail safely. They give advice and carry out preventive check-ups. Carl Decaluwé, governor of West-Flanders, gave the kick-off for the first 'safe shipping day' in Nieuwpoort.
