Ostend at Anchor 2009

From 29 May until 1 June the tenth editon of 'Ostend at Anchor'(Oostende voor Anker) will take place.
This anniversary will be a a retrospective honouring all the different themes which have been brought into play during the past ten years : the Vikings, the Siege of Ostend, Ireland and the Celts, Tintin and Belgians on the South Pole.

Just as in previous years, dozens of ships take part and the public can board certain vessels to take a sailing trip. The quays also provide plenty of activities and entertainment: exhibitions, concerts and a nautical market full of stands with maritime curiosities.

The maritime institute Mercator opens its doors on Saturday 30 May and Sunday 31 May to all those with an interest in nautical and maritime training.
